The Hartford Business Journal recently recognized Hartford-based FOCUS Government Affairs as one of the largest lobbyist firms in Connecticut.

The acknowledgment follows the arrival of two additions to the firm’s team – Michael J. Martone and Michael R. Bzdyra.

Before coming on board at FOCUS Government Affairs, Martone spent 21 years as a senior lobbyist at Murtha Cullina, LLP where he handled issues including energy, technology and business and industry clients. Martone has also worked as an aide to a US Congressman, and as a legislative liaison for the state Department of Economic and Community Development.

With more than 30 years experience in Connecticut state government, Bzdyra works on a variety of issues regarding businesses and government affairs with financial, business, and educational institutions. Bzdyra was also Deputy Commissioner of the state Department of Motor Vehicles and then served as Commissioner from 2016 to 2019.
