Council 4 AFSCME
Council 4 union members provide the vital services that make Connecticut happen.
We are corrections officers, school paraprofessionals, sanitation workers, police officers, social workers and more. We are the backbone of Connecticut’s middle class. We pay our fair share of taxes. We keep the local economy moving.
We stand for fairness at work, excellence in public service, and prosperity and opportunity for all working families.
During the 2016 legislative session, Council 4 members are fighting for economic justice while pushing back against misguided efforts to slash vital public services and lay off thousands of public sector workers.
The way we see it, good jobs equal strong communities.
We want an economy that works for everyone, not just for hedge fund managers and corporate CEOs who earn hundreds times more than average Connecticut workers.
